Aligning with our corporate trajectory, we have been taking a proactive approach to opening the China domestic market since 2015 with a primary focus on the children’s book market, including board books, activity books and licensed products. This was our first year to participate in the China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF) held November 18 to 20, 2016. CCBF is the only book fair in the Asia-Pacific region fully dedicated to children’s book publishing, with events ranging from rights trading to author introductions and reading promotions. It was a unique opportunity for us to meet and interact with our existing and potential clients, both overseas and domestic, as well as other players in the industry.

Our clients who attended the Frankfurt Book Fair in October might find our stand at the CCBF had a familiar feeling. With a simple and clean design in a western style, Leo was recognizable and stood out in the crowd. For new and potential clients who may not know Leo very well, we took this opportunity to showcase our total solution offers by displaying our wide range of product samples and award-winning books from various international printing awards. We also introduced clients and visitors to our business philosophy, continuous improvement efforts, and progress on our production “autonomation” plan.

Many clients and visitors were very impressed and eager to learn more about our innovative and value-added solutions such as our Leo Touch processes and products application, Haptic Magic, and DIY accessories kit, among others. We received a lot of positive feedback and enquiries. In particular, one of the most popular areas was our licensed products display where many visitors walked around and read our various licensed book samples. Our sales representatives were enthusiastic to explain to visitors regarding their interests and enquiries for licensed products.

Andy Lau, our General Manager of Sales Department, shared this additional high point of the event: “Another highlight was a short visit from the Government Official, Ms. Wang Yanbin, the Press and Publication In-charge of the General Administration of Press and Publication, Radio, Film, and Television at our stand”. In addition to admiring our high quality of displayed products, Ms. Wang was surprised that we have been extending our business scope to licensed products/ rights business. In the long run, our expansion into this area could have a positive impact on the growth in the domestic publishing market in China. This awareness was an encouraging moment for all those involved.

We also participated in one of the seminars as a guest speaker where we highlighted our innovation, production processes and green initiatives in the printing and production of children’s books. We were pleased to share our insights and learn more fresh insights and knowledge from other notable speakers who are industry experts from Asia and abroad.

We believe our extensive expertise and worldwide experience will better enable us to support our clients to capture more business in China together, particularly in the area of licensed products. Please feel free to contact our sales representatives to discuss how we can help inspire your creative ideas and designs, support your product development and applications, and explore even more business opportunities together.
