Climate change is one of the most serious challenges to humanity in the 21st century and a matter of human survival which requires cooperation and joint efforts by the international community. Moving forward, it is essential for developed countries to commit to cutting greenhouse gases and for developing countries to take steps to limit the growth of their emissions. It is also important to reduce deforestation and provide access to Green technology to developing nations.

More enterprises around the world are taking proactive initiatives to protect the environment as well as for the sustainability of their businesses. In the printing industry, manufacturers and their business partners along the supply chain are also carrying out various green actions by using environmentally friendly raw materials.

At Leo, our corporate social responsibility commitment acts as a core focus of our business and is an essential element of the service we offer to our clients. In view of the rapid climate change affecting the world we are placing a renewed emphasis on our green activities and total solutions by committing more time, resources and efforts in this regard.

Since 2002, we have been collecting information regarding the source of our paper pulp in terms of the paper mill, species of wood and forestry regions. We have been tracking this information in order to monitor and investigate materials we are using to produce our clients' products. Reducing the arbitrary use of natural wood or pulp sources is an important step to help protect and slow down the side-effects of climate change. Being a socially responsible manufacturer, we continue to take the necessary precautions and have procedures in place to handle this matter. In addition, we have received the certification for the Forest Stewardship Council-Chain of Custody (FSC-COC) as well as the certification for the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes-Chain of Custody (PEFC-COC) certifications.

There has been increasing concern in recent years regarding the use of tropical wood. Currently the FSC is the only certification scheme that meets the WWF's requirements for credible certifications and responsible forest management. We are aware that this can help to avoid using wood or pulp species from tropical woods. Because there is no internationally recognized list for tropical wood, we continuously check our pulp source information against all available information.

In working toward our goal of becoming a "Zero Waste" enterprise, we have recently initiated a carbon audit by a third party to measure greenhouse gas emissions. This contribution shows our effort to help relieve the effects of global warming.

We will continue to initiate our green activities and solutions as well as keep a close eye on environmental protection requirements and provide any additional updates to keep you informed. Please feel free to check with our sales representative for more details.
